Bahmni installer updates postgres.conf file when trying to backup postgres database

Description

Bahmni command line program provides means of backing up postgres databases. This can be done, for example, by invoking command below

bahmni -i dbBackup backup --backup_type=db  --options=odoo

or

bahmni -i dbBackup backup --backup_type=db  --options=postgres

However, “postgres.conf” file is updated after every time the backup command is run. Specifically related to the configuration, the following must be corrected

  • The archive_command is updated with a reference to pgbackrest even though pgbackrest is not installed and the backup of choice is pg_dump

  • Having WAL set to hot_standby causes considerable memory usage when the archiving operation is not used at all.

Also

  • The postgres configuration file should not be updated for every backup command run. This configuration should be done at the time of postgres and pgbackrest installation/provisioning.

Location of Postgres conf

  • v9.2 - /var/lib/pgsql/9.2/data
