0. Overview

1. Goal of diagnosis is to gather all required information to give a patient correct treatment.

2. It follows a very clear logic of Defining Problem (Diagnose) > Solving Problem (Treatment).

3. General means of diagnosis include direct observation, lab tests, radiology tests, bacteria tests.


1. DOCTOR looks at the medical record of PATIENT.

2. DOCTOR talks to PATIENT to gather information and take note of observations.

3. DOCTOR may order various tests to help gathering more information (in the form of test results) of PATIENT.

4. DOCTOR aggregates information to produce a diagnosis.


5. DOCTOR specifies treatment based on diagnosis.
